After we've been for a run, many of us often look for the perfect recovery drink to help us recover from our efforts.
We wanted some tips from the running community on what you drink and there were some great suggestions!
Here are just a few of the replies:
- Strawberry milkshake or a white hot chocolate (depending on the time of year!).
- Wine and beer (especially Guiness!). *drink responsibly*
- Milk or a nice cuppa!
- My go to post run is either a MILK drink - cold chocolate milk in the summer & hot chocolate or decaf milky coffee in the winter.
- Kendal choc mint recovery...delicious!
- A proper beer or a full fat coke works for me.
- Gin and tonic as tonic great for muscle cramps. *drink responsibly*
- I love HUEL protein drinks after I’ve had an electrolyte/sports drink.
- It’s got to be a hot chocolate with the works! (Cream, Marshmallows AND a flake!!)
- Banana Yazoo
- Form Nutrition - Performance Protein. Chocolate Hazelnut flavour.
- Good old chocolate Nesquik!
- A chocolate protein milkshake
- If its a long run, then I favour @ForGoodnessShks Recovery Shakes.
- For a training run, nothing special. For a marathon, probably lager. Tea, white with sugar if driving. For an ultra, chocolate milk. Can chug 2 litres of that at the end!
Whatever your go-to drink is after a run, make sure it's right for you and if it's alcoholic, drink responsibly!
